Nasarawa United coach expresses concern over slow NPFL start

Nasarawa United head coach Mangut Mbwas has expressed concern regarding the club’s poor start to the 2026/27 EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League season. Following a 2-1 defeat against Kwara United at the Late Rashidi Yekini Main-Bowl George Innih Stadium, the Lafia-based side sits in 16th position with only four points from five matches.

Mbwas acknowledged the disappointing results, noting that the team's standing on the league log is a cause for worry. Despite the loss, the coach identified positive elements from the match, noting that the team responded quickly after conceding an early goal. The immediate priority for the technical crew is to stabilize performances and find the consistency needed to move away from the lower reaches of the standings.
