NASCAR champion Kyle Busch dies at 41, wife thanks fans for support

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, a two‑time Cup Series champion and record holder with 234 wins across the sport’s three national series, died at age 41 after severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis. While testing in a Chevrolet racing simulator in Concord, North Carolina, he became unresponsive and was rushed to a hospital in Charlotte, where he later passed away.

His wife, Samantha Busch, posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, writing, "Our hearts are absolutely shattered," and thanking fans, family and strangers for the prayers, meals, flowers and countless acts of kindness that helped the family through the "most heartbreaking days". The couple are survived by their children, son Brexton (11) and daughter Lennix (4), as well as Busch’s parents.
