NASCAR Cup Series to race at World Wide Technology Raceway

The NASCAR Cup Series is scheduled to hold the Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway on Sunday, September 13. The race features a 300-mile distance on a 1.25-mile asphalt oval with a purse of $11,233,037.

Driver Cody Ware of Rick Ware Racing noted that the track's unique egg-shaped layout provides characteristics similar to a road course. The configuration requires significant downshifting, such as moving from fifth to third gear into turn one, a maneuver Ware describes as unique for an oval track.

Other upcoming NASCAR events include the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at World Wide Technology Raceway on September 12 and the UNOH 250 in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 17.
