NASCAR returns to Phoenix Raceway for multi-series weekend
NASCAR returns to Phoenix Raceway this weekend for a multi-series event featuring the Craftsman Truck Series, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and the Cup Series. The weekend concludes Sunday with the Freeway Insurance 500 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
In the Cup Series standings, Kyle Larson holds a 49-point lead over Denny Hamlin. Chase Briscoe has recently climbed into the top five following consecutive wins at Charlotte and Las Vegas. Briscoe’s pit crew has also noted significant performance, recording the three fastest four-tire pit stops in history during the last three races.
The Phoenix Raceway track is a 1.022-mile trioval known for chaotic restarts due to the placement of the start/finish line. Historically, the track favors drivers who can dominate laps, with at least one driver leading 100 or more laps in eight of the last nine races held there.
