NASDAQ 100 and Composite post modest gains as NVIDIA leads trading
At the close of Thursday trading, the Nasdaq‑100 index rose 0.75 % to 29,440.32 points after opening up 2.13 % at 29,843.89. The index has gained 16.8 % since the start of 2026 and sits near its yearly high of 30,762.20.
On Friday, the broader Nasdaq Composite increased 0.29 % to 25,431.19 points, after opening down 1 % at 25,105.41. Year‑to‑date it is up 9.45 % and close to its annual peak of 27,190.21.
Top performers included Sandisk (+21.97 %) and ACADIA Pharmaceuticals (+14.71 %) in their respective indices, while Apple and Americas Car‑Mart were among the laggards. NVIDIA recorded the highest trading volume and remains the most valuable component in both indices, with a market capitalization of roughly €4.2 trillion.
