Nasdaq and Vietnam's State Securities Commission discuss market cooperation

Vu Thi Chan Phuong, Chairwoman of the State Securities Commission of Vietnam, met with Nasdaq Vice President Robert H. McCooey Jr. in New York to discuss the development of Vietnam's stock market.

During the meeting, Chairwoman Phuong highlighted recent reforms in legal frameworks, operating mechanisms, and market infrastructure aimed at increasing transparency and accessibility for international investors. She noted that Vietnam's upgrade by FTSE Russell from a frontier market to a secondary emerging market presents significant opportunities to attract global capital and increase interest from U.S. investors.

Nasdaq Vice President McCooey described Vietnam as a dynamic market with high potential for global investment. Both parties discussed cooperation to strengthen capital market connections between Vietnam and the United States, specifically focusing on linking Vietnamese enterprises with international financial institutions, investment banks, and the global investor community. Nasdaq expressed readiness to leverage its network to support Vietnamese businesses in exploring international capital mobilization methods.
