NASDAQ Composite closes higher at 27,068.72 points

The NASDAQ Composite closed higher on Friday, gaining 0.48 percent to reach 27,068.72 points. The index opened the session up 0.117 percent compared to the previous day's close of 26,939.37 points. During the trading session, the index reached a daily high of 27,122.76 and a low of 26,876.27.

Year-to-date, the NASDAQ Composite has seen an increase of 16.50 percent. The index's highest point this year was 27,288.79, while its yearly low stood at 20,690.25. On a weekly basis, the index has recorded a gain of 1.29 percent.

Top performing stocks included Veeco Instruments, which rose 9.28 percent, followed by SMC, SIGA Technologies, Synaptics, and AAON. Conversely, Americas Car-Mart saw the largest decline, dropping 22.06 percent. NVIDIA recorded the highest trading volume within the index.
