Indonesian regional governments review upcoming budget allocations

Various Indonesian regional governments are undergoing budget reviews and approvals for upcoming fiscal periods.

In Tangerang Regency, the NasDem Party faction has called for the 2026 regional budget (APBD) changes to be more targeted, emphasizing the need for efficiency and programs that provide direct benefits to community welfare.

In Jember, the local government and DPRD have agreed on the 2026 APBD changes. Regent Gus Fawait noted a significant increase in the budget for school revitalization, which is expected to rise by more than 100 percent compared to 2025.

Meanwhile, in Magetan, the DPRD Budget Committee has raised concerns regarding the 2027 draft budget (RAPBD). The committee highlighted that personnel expenditure is projected to reach approximately 45 percent of the total budget, up from 37 percent in 2026, which may limit fiscal space for infrastructure and capital development.
