Naseeruddin Shah used extreme method acting for film ‘Chakra’

Actor Gulshan Grover recently shared an anecdote regarding Naseeruddin Shah’s extreme method acting during the production of the 1981 film ‘Chakra’. Grover stated that Shah reportedly went without bathing for approximately one and a half to two months to fully immerse himself in his character.

Directed by Rabindra Dharmaraj, ‘Chakra’ is a drama set in the slums of Mumbai. The film stars Naseeruddin Shah as Lukka, a petty criminal, alongside Smita Patil and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Grover remarked on the intense dedication required for such a role, noting that his own career path led to roles that required a much more polished appearance.

Shah remains active in the film industry, with recent and upcoming projects including ‘Assi’, ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’, and the action thriller ‘Maharagni: Queen of Queens’.
