NASENI empowers 120 electricians in Kogi State

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has completed a skills acquisition and empowerment programme in Lokoja, Kogi State. The initiative trained 120 youths in modern electrical installation and maintenance to address unemployment and meet the demands of Nigeria’s growing construction sector.

As part of the programme, each beneficiary received a starter pack and N50,000 in startup support to assist in launching their own businesses. NASENI Executive Director/CEO Professor Khalid Halilu stated that the agency aims to translate technological development into economic opportunities, noting that industrialization must create practical livelihoods for citizens.
