Nashik Kumbh Mela hackathon deadline extended to September 15
The Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority has extended the deadline for its technology hackathon to September 15. The extension follows requests from startups and technology professionals for additional time to develop solutions for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
The hackathon focuses on six critical areas, including sanitation, security, 360-degree surveillance, and COVID/first response. Approximately 50 solutions will be shortlisted for presentations, with 18 being selected. The top six finalists are expected to present their work at a proposed Tech Summit in Nashik before the Maharashtra Chief Minister.
Commissioner Shekhar Singh stated that suitable solutions will be considered for implementation during the religious gathering. Additionally, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis noted that infrastructure work is progressing, with a flag-hoisting ceremony for the Kumbh Mela scheduled for October 31.
