Nashik Municipal Corporation to launch Property Bank and prepare for Kumbh Mela
The Nashik Municipal Corporation has announced several major initiatives to improve urban management and prepare for the upcoming Singhastha Kumbh Mela. A key component of this plan is the creation of a ‘Property Bank’ through a GIS survey of all built structures, vacant plots, and other municipal assets. This database will provide comprehensive information regarding the status, use, and availability of city properties.
In preparation for the large influx of pilgrims and tourists during the Kumbh Mela, the city will strengthen its healthcare infrastructure by planning for increased medical personnel, equipment, and facilities. Additionally, the ‘Sundar Nashik’ initiative under the ‘Unnat Nashik’ campaign will focus on planned beautification of public spaces, roads, and squares, alongside enhanced sanitation efforts.
Other significant decisions include the reopening of closed municipal schools following inspections by Education Minister Dada Bhuse, and the implementation of a new water supply policy, including the launch of a new water treatment plant. Furthermore, the corporation decided to lease municipal properties to social organizations for community centers and study halls at a rental rate of 0.5 percent of the construction cost rather than the standard ready reckoner rate. Municipal employees will also receive a Diwali bonus of 31,500 rupees.
