Nashville International Airport to be renamed for Dolly Parton
The Nashville International Airport (BNA) will be renamed to honor the legendary country music icon Dolly Parton. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced the decision, stating that Parton’s extraordinary life is permanently linked to the history of the state.
The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority confirmed that the decision was reached through a unanimous vote. While a final specific name has not yet been selected, officials are working with stakeholders to determine how Parton’s name and legacy will be incorporated into the facility.
Parton, a global icon known for hits such as ‘Jolene’ and ‘I Will Always Love You,’ was also recognized for her extensive philanthropic work and business ventures. The tribute follows her passing at the age of 80.
