Nashville Predators begin defensive overhaul with Jayden Struble trade

The Nashville Predators are undergoing a defensive roster overhaul under general manager Chris MacFarland, beginning with the recent acquisition of Jayden Struble from the Montreal Canadiens. The trade, which sent Struble to Nashville in exchange for a likely second-round pick, is viewed as the first step in a larger effort to rebuild the team’s blueline.

Nashville’s defensive needs have become critical following the departures of key players like Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Ellis. While Roman Josi remains a top asset, the team has struggled with defensive consistency, surrendering a high number of goals in recent seasons. Analysts suggest the Predators intend to continue making moves to address this deficiency and support goaltender Juuse Saros.
