Nashville Predators claim defenseman Daemon Hunt off waivers

The Nashville Predators have claimed defenseman Daemon Hunt from the Minnesota Wild via the NHL waiver wire. Hunt, a 24-year-old from Brandon, Manitoba, was a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. He has appeared in 61 career NHL games, recording eight points. His addition to the roster comes as the Predators manage injuries to defenseman William Trudeau.

To make room for Hunt on the roster, Nashville has placed defenseman Jack Ahcan on waivers. Ahcan, who signed a two-year, two-way contract with the team this season, will likely be assigned to the Milwaukee Admirals if he clears waivers.
