Nashville Predators claim William Trudeau off waivers

The Nashville Predators have claimed 23-year-old defenseman William Trudeau off waivers from the New York Rangers. Trudeau, who has yet to make his NHL debut, previously played for the AHL's Laval Rocket. He is currently on a one-year, $850,000 two-way contract.

As the Predators approach the final preseason game against the Carolina Hurricanes, the team is working to trim its roster to 23 players by the September 28 deadline. General Manager Chris MacFarland has already reduced the roster to 27 players by assigning several individuals to the Milwaukee Admirals, including forwards Felix Nilsson and Cole O'Hara, defenseman Tanner Molendyk, and goaltender Matt Murray. Additionally, defender Hunter Skinner has been placed on waivers.
