Nashville U-Haul worker arrested for fatal shooting of co-worker

Devin Rice, 23, has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide following the fatal shooting of his co-worker, 56-year-old Fredrick Lytton, at a U-Haul facility in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the incident occurred during a shift on Annex Avenue after an argument broke out between the two men over a drink. Police report that Rice admitted to the dispute and subsequently pulled out a pistol, firing several shots at Lytton. Lytton was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died.

Rice allegedly fled the scene following the shooting but was later apprehended by authorities. U-Haul area district vice president for Tennessee, Jeff Porter, expressed shock and sadness regarding the event, stating the company is focused on supporting the victim’s family and affected team members.
