Nashville YMCA Camp Widjiwagan Tree Falls Kills Teen

A 15‑year‑old camper, identified as Camden Robert Callihan, died after a large tree fell on him during a group hike at the YMCA's Camp Widjiwagan, located on the Percy Priest Lake area of Antioch, Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred on Monday morning while participants were in the Teen Extreme program.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Despite medical care, he was pronounced dead. The YMCA activated its emergency protocols, deployed a support team to the site, and is cooperating with authorities. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department confirmed the incident and continues to investigate the circumstances that caused the tree to fall.
