Nasiruddin Patwari targeted in attack in Kushtia

Nasiruddin Patwari, the chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP), was reportedly targeted in an attack in Kushtia on Sunday evening. The incident occurred while Patwari was visiting the Lalon Akhra area.

According to the NCP, stones were thrown at Patwari’s vehicle, resulting in injuries to him and two others. Other reports suggest that an egg was thrown at him while he was interacting with followers near the Lalon Shah shrine, leading to a tense situation where he and his supporters were reportedly stranded for approximately 30 minutes.

This incident follows a series of similar alleged attacks against Patwari in other regions, including Jhenaidah, Habiganj, and Sylhet earlier this year. The NCP has condemned the violence, stating that repeated harassment of a central political leader is not indicative of a healthy political environment, and has called for a neutral investigation into the matter. Local police have moved to control the situation and stated they are investigating the cause and those involved.
