NASLA and PROLOG sign 844m FCFA deal for Cameroon local governance training

The National School of Local Administration (NASLA) and the Local Governance and Resilient Communities Project (PROLOG) have signed an agreement worth approximately 844 million FCFA to strengthen administrative and financial management across 145 local authorities in Cameroon.

The 12-month initiative aims to train nearly 2,000 local elected officials and staff within the Adamawa, East, Far North, North, North-West, and South-West regions. Scheduled for October and November 2026, the training sessions will focus on critical operational areas, including municipal financial governance, human resource management, and civil status registry services.

This collaboration is part of a larger $300 million World Bank-backed PROLOG program designed to support community resilience and decentralization. Minister of Decentralization and Local Development Georges Elanga Obam noted that the program is intended to translate capacity-building into improved service quality for citizens at the grassroots level.
