NasNakarus's viral needle-in-a-haystack game gains massive attention

A new indie game concept by developer NasNakarus has gone viral after a video demonstrating the gameplay reached approximately 49 million views on X. The game takes the idiom ‘finding a needle in a haystack’ literally, tasking players with locating a single needle hidden among 5 million pieces of hay.

Described as a meditative or repetitive ‘cozy game,’ the gameplay involves manually picking through individual stalks of hay. The developer noted that the goal is to test the limits of player patience. If a player finds the needle at the very end, the task could theoretically take nearly 7,000 hours to complete.

While the official Steam page and title are expected to be released by late August 2026, the concept has already seen imitation. Reports indicate that multiple copycat versions of the ‘needle in a haystack’ concept have appeared on the Roblox platform within 48 hours of the video's viral success.
