Nasser Abu Surour launches 'On the Bed of Writing' in Ramallah

The book 'On the Bed of Writing' by author and released prisoner Nasser Abu Surour was officially launched at the Municipal Theater in Ramallah. The event was attended by writers, intellectuals, and citizens.

Abu Surour participated in the ceremony via Zoom from Egypt, where he was deported by Israeli authorities following his release. The 304-page work, published by Dar Al-Adab for Publishing and Distribution, falls under the genre of prison literature. Rather than a simple chronicle of incarceration, the book explores Abu Surour’s personal relationship with writing as a means to combat isolation and reclaim his world.

During the launch, Abu Surour described the writing process as a difficult and painful experience that forced him to confront old memories. He noted that his work aims to reflect the broader Palestinian experience, stating, 'you will find yourselves in my pain, which is present in all of Palestine.'
