NASSIT Director General Chernor Mamoud Jalloh engages judiciary and media
Chernor Mamoud Jalloh, the Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), has initiated several engagements in Sierra Leone to strengthen institutional cooperation and public awareness.
During a meeting with Chief Justice Komba Kamanda in Freetown, Jalloh emphasized the necessity of collaboration with the judiciary to enforce social security laws. He specifically highlighted the role of the Social Security Court in ensuring that employers comply with statutory obligations to remit employee contributions. Jalloh noted that the judiciary is essential for holding institutions accountable when they fail to fulfill these legal duties.
Additionally, Jalloh met with media practitioners to seek support in improving service delivery and public education regarding the National Pension Scheme. He outlined strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing NASSIT's processes and improving efficiency. Jalloh urged the press to help educate the public on their rights and obligations, while also raising awareness about the legal consequences of encroaching on assets owned by the Trust.
