Nasyiatul Aisyiyah Holds 15th Congress in Surakarta, Charts Path for Young Women

The 15th Muktamar of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah opened at the Edutorium of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta on 7‑8 August 2026. About 875 official participants and roughly 6,700 cadres from across Indonesia attended. The congress was chaired by Muhammadiyah leader Haedar Nashir and Aisyiyah head Siti Noordjannah Djohantini, with Ariati Dina Puspitasari serving as chair of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah.

The event adopted the theme “Perempuan Muda Berkemajuan untuk Peradaban Berkelanjutan” (Young Women Advancing for Sustainable Civilization). Organizers outlined three pillars—faith, knowledge, and tangible benefit—and addressed strategic issues such as the demographic bonus, media and technology disruption, climate change, and economic sovereignty. Concrete programs include eco‑livelihood projects, digital dawah literacy, and eco‑dawah initiatives. The congress emphasized environmental stewardship by minimizing plastic use and employing paper‑less e‑voting, and provided facilities to support women and children.
