Natac Biotech to expand Hervás plant for olive leaf extraction

Natac Biotech has initiated environmental procedures to substantially expand its plant in the Las Cañadas industrial park in Hervás, Extremadura. The expansion aims to add a new production line dedicated to extracting organic components from olive leaves.

The project focuses on producing high-value natural ingredients, such as triterpenes, for use in the cosmetics, dermopharmacy, functional food, and dietary supplement industries. These extracts, known in European bases as ‘Olea Europaea Leaf Extract’, are used for skin conditioning and fragrance.

The proposal has been released for public information through the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE), allowing a 20-day period for individuals or legal entities to submit suggestions or allegations regarding the unified environmental authorization requested from the Junta de Extremadura.
