Natalia Duco returns to presidential advisory team after brief resignation

Former Sports Minister Natalia Duco is returning to La Moneda to join the ‘Segundo Piso’ advisory team led by Alejandro Irarrázaval. This move comes just 24 days after her resignation from the Ministry of Sport on August 14.

Duco resigned following allegations regarding the misuse of a government vehicle to attend a private event, a matter currently under investigation by the Comptroller General. Her return as a sports advisor has drawn sharp criticism from political figures.

Socialist Party President Paulina Vodanovic accused the government of a ‘double standard,’ suggesting the move rewards Duco despite the controversy. Additionally, members of the Partido de la Gente have announced legislative actions to demand transparency regarding Duco’s new functions, salary, and potential conflicts of interest.
