Natalia Gracianía denounces irregularities in Ombudsman selection process
Provincial legislator Natalia Gracianía of La Libertad Avanza has raised concerns regarding the transparency and fairness of the public contest to select the new Provincial Ombudsman for the Rights of Children and Adolescents.
Gracianía alleges that the selection process has lacked clarity, noting that rules and evaluation criteria were modified mid-process. She suggested these changes might have been designed to benefit specific individuals. During a public hearing, she reported that 45 people were excluded from the process and criticized the lack of transparency in publishing scores and the evaluation of applicants' backgrounds.
The legislator has called for a full review of the proceedings before the final designation is made, demanding that the jury's decisions and the reasoning behind them be made public to ensure the role is filled by a qualified candidate through an objective mechanism.
