Natalia Rivera resigns as Movimiento Ciudadano coordinator in Sonora

Natalia Rivera Grijalva has resigned from her position as the state coordinator for Movimiento Ciudadano in Sonora. She stated that her departure is a personal decision based on political congruence following the national leadership's move to incorporate the political group of Alejandro López Caballero, who is closely linked to former governor Guillermo Padrés Elías.

Rivera Grijalva clarified that she was not asked to leave but chose to step down because she felt she was no longer functional within the party's new strategy. She noted that while she respects the national leadership and its right to make strategic decisions, she maintains a personal history and truth regarding the incoming group.

Regarding her future, Rivera Grijalva indicated she intends to remain active in politics but has not yet decided on her next step. She also expressed disappointment that Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas did not address the incorporation of the new group, which she characterized as the arrival of “padrecismo” within the party.
