Investigative reporting documented that lawyer and social‑media influencer Natalia Torres has worked for National Action Party (PAN) Senator Agustín Dorantes Lambarri. Official Senate documents list her as part of the senator’s team, and photographs and video show her handling communications, logistics and distributing party material. Sources say she serves as Dorantes’s communications chief and receives about 100,000 pesos per month.

Dorantes confirmed that Torres has assisted him on a voluntary basis but denied she is on the PAN or Senate payroll. The controversy centers on Torres’s earlier proposal that voting should require an exam to ensure voters possess a minimum level of knowledge, a comment that drew widespread criticism and raised questions about the right to vote in Mexico.
