Natalie Harp targeted by AI-generated deepfakes

AI-generated images and videos targeting Natalie Harp, executive assistant to Donald Trump, have been identified as fake.

One circulating image, which depicts Harp with an unnaturally elongated smile and exposed gums, was found to be AI-altered. Detection tools, including Hive Moderation and OpenAI’s Verify tool, confirmed the manipulation. The original photo, taken during a trip to Ireland, showed a relaxed expression with minimal gum exposure.

Additionally, a six-second video appearing to show Harp grinning behind Donald Trump during a NATO summit in Turkey was determined to be AI-generated. While the video’s first frame is an authentic press photograph, the subsequent footage is synthetic. Such short clips are characteristic of current AI video generation capabilities.
