Natalie Harp personal letters spark White House controversy

The publication of personal letters written by Natalie Harp, a close aide to Donald Trump, has sparked intense debate regarding her influence and professional boundaries within the White House. The correspondence, much of which was written during Trump's 2023 travels to Scotland and Ireland, contains highly emotional language, including statements such as “You are all that matters to me” and referring to the former president as her “protector and guardian.”

Harp, often nicknamed the “human printer” for her role in providing Trump with hard copies of news articles, has also expressed private dissatisfaction with the moniker. Beyond the letters, scrutiny has turned to her security clearance, with reports indicating she worked for over a year without official federal background check approval. Additionally, analysis of her past social media activity revealed significant support for Trump during the January 6 Capitol riot.

While critics and some campaign members have expressed concern over the unusual nature of her devotion, the White House has defended Harp, describing her as a loyal and hardworking member of the team. Harp has previously credited Trump's signing of the Right to Try law as a pivotal factor in her survival of stage 2 bone cancer.
