Natalie Portman Highlights Vegan Pregnancy and US‑France Health‑Care Contrast

Actress Natalie Portman, 45, announced she is expecting her third child. She confirmed she remains vegan throughout the pregnancy and described a heightened sense of smell, saying, “My sense of smell is strengthened during each pregnancy.”

In an interview with Elle, Portman compared maternal health care in France and the United States. She praised doctors in both countries but noted the biggest difference is how services are financed: “In a public health system they try to provide what is useful for the most people without charging extra, whereas in the United States you hear, ‘If you want this, we can add that.’”

Portman lives in Paris with her French partner, music producer Tanguy Destable, and is mother to son Aleph, 14, and daughter Amalia, 9, from her previous marriage to Benjamin Millepied.
