Natanael Cano defends corridos tumbados at album launch

Singer Natanael Cano defended the corridos tumbados genre during a listening party for his new album, ‘Natanael Cano Vol. 1’, held at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City. The Hermosillo-born artist addressed criticisms and potential restrictions placed on the genre due to content perceived as glorifying crime.

During a conversation with music producer Pepe Garza, Cano expressed his unwavering commitment to the genre, stating, ‘Me van a tener que matar, compadre. Me van a tener que matar porque esto lo hacemos de corazón...’. He emphasized his passion for writing and performing this music despite the controversies.

The event featured 15 new tracks and included guest appearances by Gabito Ballesteros and Javier Rosas. Cano also paid tribute to his inspiration, Ariel Camacho, and performed snippets of his controversial hit ‘Cuerno Azulado’.
