Natanael Cano threatened in Sonora criminal message

The Sonora State Attorney General's Office (FGJES) has identified a threatening message, known as a 'narcomanta', targeting regional Mexican music artists and influencers. The message, signed by a group calling itself 'Grupo Bélico Mata Salas', specifically names singer Natanael Cano and warns those who financially support or collaborate with the criminal group 'Los Salazar' of potential violence.

The handwritten message was discovered alongside the body of Jesús Bernardo “N”, who was killed on August 29 in Hermosillo. This follows an incident on August 28 where armed individuals attacked and set fire to the ring at the Centro de Usos Múltiples (CUM) during a scheduled event.

Authorities have linked the message to the investigation of three men—Daniel Ernesto “N”, César Abdiel “N”, and Jesús Salvador “N”—who face charges of qualified homicide. During a search of a residence connected to the suspects, investigators seized three 9mm pistols and ammunition, which forensic evidence suggests were used in both the CUM attack and the subsequent homicide.
