Nathalee Aranda wins Félix Sánchez Classic with new long jump record

Panamanian athlete Nathalee Aranda won the long jump competition at the Félix Sánchez Classic, a Silver category event of the World Athletics Continental Tour, held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Aranda secured the victory on her final attempt, recording a jump of 6.46 meters. This performance set a new event record, surpassing the previous mark of 6.43 meters held by Puerto Rico’s Alisbeth Félix. The win allowed Aranda to edge out Trinidad and Tobago’s Tyra Gittens-Spotsville by three centimeters.

The competition featured several high-level international athletes, including Nigeria’s Ruth Usoro and Dominican Republic’s Ana José Tima. The victory provides Aranda with significant World Athletics ranking points, supporting her progression toward future Pan American and Olympic cycles.
