Nathalie Koenders to run for Dijon Metropolis presidency if Rebsamen wins senate seat

Nathalie Koenders, the Mayor of Dijon, has announced her intention to run for President of the Metropolis if François Rebsamen is elected as a senator in the upcoming senatorial elections on September 27.

Rebsamen, who has previously expressed the belief that the Mayor of Dijon should also serve as the President of the Metropolis, is officially running for the senate. Due to regulations in place since 2014, a senator cannot simultaneously hold a local executive mandate, such as mayor or president of an intercommunality. This potential shift in leadership could mark the end of Rebsamen's tenure as President of the Metropolis.
