Nathan Ambrosioni's film 'Los niños están bien' explores voluntary disappearance

The new feature film 'Los niños están bien', directed by French filmmaker Nathan Ambrosioni, explores the unsettling premise of voluntary disappearance. The story follows Jeanne, played by Camille Cottin, who must suddenly care for her two young nephews after her sister, Suzanne, leaves them with her and vanishes without explanation.

Ambrosioni noted that the film is inspired by the fact that approximately 15,000 people in France choose to disappear voluntarily each year. Rather than focusing on the investigation into the mother's whereabouts, the director intended to focus on the impact on those left behind and how they navigate life in the wake of such an absence.

The film has received critical acclaim, winning the Audience Award in the Mosaico section at the Málaga Film Festival, as well as Best Director and the FIPRESCI International Critics Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
