Jaymie Graham named North Melbourne senior coach
North Melbourne has officially named Jaymie Graham as its new senior coach, signing him to a three-year deal to succeed Alastair Clarkson. Graham, a 43-year-old former West Coast player, arrives at the club following a successful tenure as an assistant coach at Fremantle.
The appointment follows a period of transition for the Kangaroos after the sacking of Clarkson in September. The selection process, led by CEO Jennifer Watt and football boss Todd Viney, included several high-profile candidates. Graham reportedly secured the position after an impressive interview process, beating out other contenders such as David Hale, Daniel Giansiracusa, and Xavier Clarke.
The search was notably impacted by Nathan Buckley, the former Collingwood coach, who withdrew from the race late in the process. Graham is tasked with leading the club’s young roster into a new era, utilizing his experience in high-performing programs to develop the squad for the modern game.
