Nathan Collins urged as Manchester United transfer target

Former Manchester United midfielder Gordon Strachan has urged the club to sign Brentford captain Nathan Collins to address defensive vulnerabilities. Strachan noted that the team's inability to secure a solid defense could hinder their ability to compete for the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Manchester United has struggled defensively at the start of the season, conceding in every game and winning only once in their opening five matches. While the club has utilized defenders such as Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, and Diogo Dalot, Strachan suggests that Collins, a 25-year-old Irish international, possesses the attributes necessary to strengthen the backline.

Collins joined Brentford in 2023 for a significant fee and has since become a mainstay in their defense. Strachan remarked that while Collins may not be a flamboyant or marquee name, he is a “top centre-half” who is readily available within the Premier League.
