Nathan Lyon reaches 600 international wickets
Australian spinner Nathan Lyon has become the fifth Australian bowler to reach 600 international wickets. He is the second Australian spinner to achieve this milestone, following Shane Warne.
Lyon reached the feat during a match against Bangladesh in Mackay, taking figures of 3/25 in the second innings. Across 174 international matches, he has accumulated 601 wickets at an average of 31.00, including 24 five-wicket hauls and five ten-wicket hauls. He currently stands as Australia's second-highest Test wicket-taker.
In the same match, Australia secured a victory by an innings and 51 runs. The win was driven by a dominant bowling performance, notably from Mitchell Starc, who took 10 wickets in the match, preventing Bangladesh from exceeding 100 runs in either innings.
