Nathan Paetsch named head coach of Youngstown Phantoms

The Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League (USHL) have hired Nathan Paetsch as their new head coach. Paetsch becomes the seventh individual in the franchise's history to hold the position.

Paetsch joins Youngstown following a three-season tenure as an assistant coach for the Rochester Americans, the AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. During his time in Rochester, he contributed to the development of several players within the Sabres organization. His professional background includes 17 seasons within the Buffalo organization as a player, development coach, and assistant coach, as well as playing experience in the NHL and Europe.

Paetsch's playing career began in 2003 and concluded in 2020. He is notable for being drafted twice in the NHL entry drafts, first by the Washington Capitals in 2001 and later by the Buffalo Sabres in 2003.
