Nation Media Group resumes Ugandan operations after presidential approval
President Yoweri Museveni gave authorisation for Nation Media Group (NMG) to restart its television, print, radio and digital services in Uganda. The Tanzanian investment firm Taifa Group, via its subsidiary Taarifa Limited, announced the resumption and thanked the Ugandan president and General Muhoozi Kainerugaba of the UPDF for their support. Chairman Rostam Azizi said the decision reflects regional dialogue and cooperation, and pledged continued investment in East Africa.
NMG says the restoration will proceed in phases, aiming to rebuild its local presence, provide credible and impartial journalism, and create jobs in the Ugandan media sector.
