National Agricultural Development Fund expands Nigerian agri-tech and fertilizer support
The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) has partnered with Growtech West Africa to advance agricultural investment, technology adoption, and food security in Nigeria. This collaboration aims to link Nigerian agribusinesses with international investors and technology providers to enhance productivity and strengthen value chains. The partnership will be highlighted at the inaugural Growtech West Africa exhibition in Lagos, scheduled for January 2027.
In a separate initiative to support the 2026 cropping season, the NADF has distributed fertilizers to 5,040 farmers in Bauchi State. Working through the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and the Bauchi State Government, the intervention provided 12,160 bags of NPK fertilizer to AFAN members and 8,000 bags to state-identified farmers.
The fertilizer program is part of a broader NADF plan to provide 20,160 bags to each of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. This effort is intended to improve agricultural productivity and encourage farmers who had previously exited the sector due to high input costs to return to farming.
