National and Kapodistrian University of Athens sees high demand for Cyprus branch

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) has reported high demand for its new Cyprus branch, marking a significant step in the internationalization of Greek public universities.

The Medical School has seen particularly intense competition, with an acceptance rate of only 20% following a rigorous evaluation process. Other academic units experiencing high interest and hundreds of applications include departments for Primary Education, Business Administration and Organizations, Economic Sciences, Psychology, Nursing, and an English-language Department of Classics.

NKUA maintains academic consistency by ensuring that professors teaching at the Cyprus branch are the same faculty members teaching in the corresponding departments at the main university in Greece. The institution is also actively recruiting high-level professors to maintain an exclusive presence at the branch.
