National Anti-Corruption Commission launches 2026 integrity survey
The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has launched the 2026 Commonwealth Integrity Survey, inviting Australian Public Service (APS) staff and federal government agency employees to provide anonymous feedback on corruption risks and organizational vulnerabilities.
This biennial initiative follows an inaugural survey in 2024, which collected over 58,000 responses. Findings from the previous cycle indicated that while 79 per cent of employees expressed faith in their agency's integrity, concerns were raised regarding nepotism and cronyism within leadership. The data also showed that while most staff felt confident identifying corruption, their willingness to report it often depended on having direct evidence rather than hearsay.
Acting Deputy Commissioner Jamie Lowe emphasized that the survey is voluntary and strictly anonymous, designed to build an evidence base for corruption prevention and education. Once the survey closes on 25 September, the NACC will provide federal agencies with de-identified reports to help them target specific integrity efforts and address identified weaknesses.
