Tran Thanh Man sets strict standards for APEC 2027 projects in Phu Quoc

National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man has established a strict “three no” principle for all construction projects serving the 2027 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the Phu Quoc special zone. The principles mandate: no delays in progress, no lowering of quality or safety standards, and no legal violations.

During a working session with An Giang provincial leaders on October 25, Tran Thanh Man inspected several major developments, including the APEC Convention Center, the expansion of Phu Quoc International Airport, and urban transit projects. He emphasized that all works must be completed by June 30, 2027, at the latest, and must meet international standards for aesthetics and safety.

While noting that legal frameworks and disbursement rates are progressing, the President identified several challenges, such as inadequate investment preparation, contractor capacity issues, and delays in technical infrastructure relocation. He urged ministries and local authorities to provide timely support to investors to ensure projects are completed “correctly, sufficiently, and beautifully.”
