National Assembly delegation monitors Osun election preparedness

The Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, led by Senator Simon Lalong, conducted an oversight visit to Osun State to assess the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the upcoming governorship election.

The delegation, which included members from both the Senate and the House of Representatives, met with the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner and other national commissioners. The visit aimed to evaluate INEC’s preparedness, security arrangements, and the deployment of sensitive electoral materials to polling units to ensure a free, fair, and credible election.

INEC officials assured the committee that the commission is fully prepared for the election. The committee noted the briefing and indicated it would initiate further legislative action if necessary.
