Serbia's National Assembly debates budget rebalance and legislative reforms

The National Assembly of Serbia is conducting an extraordinary session focused heavily on the proposed budget rebalance. Members of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) have expressed support for the rebalance, describing it as developmental and aimed at improving citizens' lives through infrastructure, healthcare, and education. Conversely, opposition members, including the Green-Left Front, have proposed redirecting funds intended for the National Stadium toward student standards, flood defense, and social welfare.

In addition to the budget, the Serbian assembly is debating 59 agenda items, including laws on the Judicial Academy, anti-corruption measures, and energy crisis mitigation. Discussions have also touched upon security in Kosovo and Metohija and the status of unpaid salaries.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, political tensions persist regarding state property laws. Nikola Špirić of the SNSD criticized the opposition for allegedly being willing to support state property laws as a means to enter power. Meanwhile, research indicates that the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH has subsequently confirmed 82 out of 101 laws imposed by the High Representative between 1996 and 2018.
