National Assembly Speaker Cho Jung-sik marks 100 days in office

National Assembly Speaker Cho Jung-sik marked his 100th day in office by emphasizing a legislative agenda focused on public livelihood, economic revitalization, and national interest diplomacy. Since his inauguration on June 5, the National Assembly has processed 177 livelihood and reform-related bills.

Key achievements include the passage of amendments to the Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth Act and the Act on the Honorable Treatment and Support of Persons of Distinguished Service to the State. To bolster economic growth, Cho launched the National Assembly Economic Leap Committee, co-chaired with Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Chey Tae-won, to facilitate communication between lawmakers and the business sector.

In the realm of diplomacy, Cho has established a new framework for parliamentary diplomacy by creating a diplomatic and security secretary's office within the Speaker's office and launching a National Interest Diplomacy Advisory Committee. Looking forward, Cho aims to ensure the timely processing of the government budget by the December 2 deadline and intends to advance discussions regarding constitutional amendment.
