National Bank of Egypt Allocates 2 bn EGP to Community Development in 2025
The National Bank of Egypt reported total contributions of roughly 2 billion Egyptian pounds for 2025, aimed at supporting a wide range of community‑development projects across the country. The bank’s strategy emphasized expansion in Upper Egypt and targeted sectors such as health, education, economic empowerment and social protection.
In the health sector, the bank injected about 862 million pounds into more than 15 hospitals and medical units, improving infrastructure and service capacity. Initiatives included funding for the 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital that treated around 1,800 children, supplying ECMO equipment for roughly 180 patients at Cairo University hospitals, and upgrading facilities at the National Cancer Institute and Al‑Nas Children’s Hospital, which treated 278 cases. The bank highlighted its commitment to sustained, impact‑driven community work rather than one‑off activities.
